mixed media on 6x8 flat canvas board
Thanks so much to everyone for all the amazing comments on my last post! It makes my heart happy to have so much encouragement and support here in blogland!!
This is my latest painting and I have to say I love it! The color palette is not typically what I am comfortable with but I went for it. I had new paper I wanted to use for collage with lots of butterflies. So I collaged the paper on and then used glazes of teal, gold, and yellow. I used bubble wrap with ink for texture and my crayons to color in the butterflies. I didn't realize until I had finished that those crayons made everything pop! It made me wish I had shaded my last piece.
Today I am just relaxing . . . I haven't had a late night out in forever! The concert was AMAZING last night!! I didn't want it to end! It was alot of driving but well worth it. Def Leppard and Heart rocked it!! When I was out and about years ago dating and doing the clubbing thing I don't know how I lived on such a lack of sleep! lol It will take a few days to catch up!
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend and creating lovely things!
xo
I just read your last post, which I somehow missed. I'm so sorry you've been having a rough week and I hope art is helping you heal. This page is beautiful, I love the colors you've chosen and naturally I adore butterflies, so it really speaks to me. Thank you for sharing. ~*~ BIG HUG ~*~ xoxo Leila
ReplyDeleteButterflies!!! How pretty! And I 'like' the colors of it!...And I know what you mean about the late night out thing too! I had some of those late night, dancing till dawn days, back when I was young...and oblivious to things like 'sleep deprivation'. LOL Now, I'm the official keeper of a nap! ^_^ I hope you get yourself a little sleep today. I'll take the time to officially afford you a nap...when I wake me up! ^_^
ReplyDeleteThis is really pretty. You can never go wrong with butterflies in my opinion. Love the colors you chose and yes it is different for you but lovely and nice to see you venture out.
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing! Love how the green and yellow dance around the canvas. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject,,,butterflies.....I love this piece and the colors you chose.....You are certainly moving right along with your art....Congratulations......
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit today.....
So tell me, do they all still have long hair? I always feel sorry for those men famous for their locks that lose their hair. Can you imagine what Rod Stewart would look like without his mop? Wonder if he had a hair transplant or is just lucky!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, enough rambling. Great picture and keep on experimenting! Wonderful results
Truly Sweet Butterflies! Love The Composition And Your Color Choices! Hey, The Concert Sounded Terrific! And Yes, I Know Precisely Why You Questioned Ever Having Survived All Those Late Nights! :)) Just Talking About It Wears Me Out These Days. :)) Hope Y'all Enjoyed The Barbeque. Sounded Yummy! Sending You Some Love & Sunshine, Terri
