Top of the Met

Last spring I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Its one of the reasons I feel lucky to live so close to Manhattan. Although I had been there before I felt as though I was seeing it through different eyes. I had a greater appreciation and interest in what I was seeing. One of the highlights that afternoon was being on the rooftop. Of course I had to get out my camera!

I altered each shot in sepia. I love that you can still see the pink shades of the clouds. The color comes through despite it being overcast that day especially in the above image.

Being able to look out over the city felt grand. It felt like you went on a trip to another place.

I hope you enjoyed coming along with me!

  1. New York looks like it has been turned into a fairyland with many castle-spires reaching into the sky! The cropping with the top of the trees makes it even more the color and the overall feel!

  2. Nice the sepia toning, gives a poetic touch to the photos!

  3. Thanks For The Fabulous Journey! Oh My Goodness Sweet Cathy..These Photos Are Sensational! I Too Loved The Pink That Remained When Sepia Tones Were Added! It Was Just That Perfect Something..Ya Know? Love It When Magical Things Like That Happen. Hope You're Having A Wonderful Weekend! Hugs From The Peach State, Terri

  4. Beautiful shots! I love that you always remember your camera. Must be the test of a good photographer...That explains my picture-taking in a nutshell! It's always at home when the world is posing for the shot!! ^_^ By the way, I love the sepia. It makes the view so enticing.

  5. Yes I did enjoy this--we had fun when we went last summer, but I know for sure, I wouldn't want to live there. My son loves living in Manhattan!

  6. Hi Cathy, gorgeous building and you photo does do it justice. Are you planning any art around this one?
