Finding The Face . . .

I am discovering a style of painting that I think is becoming my own.  I really love being free with paint, picking a couple of colors, adding some white and using my hands to smear the paint around.  I also use a scraper sometimes.  Then I stand back and look to see who or what shows up.  I love it when I find a face.

I am hoping you too can see the face I discovered in the top left side of this piece.  It almost looks like a mask and it is only half of a face.  I am sure there are other discoveries to be made!

So now I would like to ask you . . .

What do you see??

Sharing today at Paint Party Friday :)

  4. I see a face in profile on the left, and the head of a bird in the middle. And when you turn it 90 degrees to the right, I can see another face top left.... Can you tell I also love this painting style? :-) The colors are great!

  6. Oh, I love that way of working and you are inspiring me to do it more!! I've so gotten out of it... I didn't the face in the top left, but I immediately saw a face peeking in the middle at the bottom.

    Fun!! Love, Silke

  7. wonderful way to begin!! Ok, so the first thing I saw-I actually see it sideways at the bottom center- the two white areas look to me very much like the figure of a mother and daughter. Can't wait to find out how you finish this :)

  9. what a blast reading what other's see. i see the two masks looking at the woman in purple walking into the arch on the right. i see a big bench on the left middle but also an entire scene within. this has so much dimension - there is so much to see. the picture bends (literally pictorally) for me when I look at it in so many places. wow if this is a style you are comfy with...aren't you a joy!
