I want to thank everyone for the lovely comments on my last post. And for those of you who shared your own experience I thank you. It really helps to know others out there feel the same! My anxiety has lessened but it seems that there are always aftershocks that hang around for a couple of days. I want to try and keep my sketchbook close by.
Yesterday I sketched her out. Kinda going off of the previous sketch I was inspired by the face and hair from the fashionista sketch! I wondered how it would look if I did just a face in that style. I didn't feel like adding a nose and I really thought she looked ok without one. I had never tried a closed eye but I had fun working on the lashes and shading the lid. Even closed I love the eyes!
Don't know yet how she will make it to a canvas. Possibly a via altered photo . . .
I love it just as it is!! You are such a wonderful artist! I love all your work!
ReplyDeletegorgeous cathy! i'm so glad you are feeling better too.

Beautiful!! I didn't even notice the lack of nose until you mentioned it... And aren't closed eyes interesting? Have a happy day!! Love, Silke
ReplyDeleteLovely! Very stylish xx
ReplyDeletevery expressive - even without a nose!
ReplyDeleteI find it amazing that you can sit down & sketch something like this. I can't even doodle & make it look nice. I love her closed eye & I love her lips! I think you're right...I didn't even miss her nose! Very nice, Cathy!
ReplyDeleteHi Cathy, I just read your last post and I know exactly where you are coming from. I haven't been sketching much lately as I've been preoccupied with my pendant making. But I find that I'm constantly thinking about drawing and anxious that I'm out of practice. I'm struggling with the flower canvas' that I've been trying to work on and have painted over one 3 times now! I think I just need to make some time to get back into the routine of sketching. But it is so hard to do it all. I really love this sketch of yours. I didn't notice she didn't have a nose either....hehehe funny! I love the closed eye and the hair over the other it gives her mystery and those lips are luscious! Gorgeous sketch! :0)
ReplyDeleteYour design is wonderful, very nice, elegant!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Cathy!
A hug!
