Sunday Sketches

What a crazy week it has been! Today while Rocky was sleeping in his crate I quickly tried to sketch for the first time in over a week. And it felt pretty good! It has been so stressful around here with the new pup and not much sleep. I am a bit cranky and I hate feeling that way.

I enjoyed sketching this girl and loved adding all the hearts to her hair! I am so behind in my many online classes. I have no idea when I will get to catch up. I am sorry for being so out of touch and not making the rounds to catch up with all of you. I hope to get back to that soon!

Rocky is still not sleeping through the night in his crate. He wakes up in the middle of the night and cries. I hate it but I try to ignore it. So hard for me to do. That is why I have lost so much sleep. Well, enough of that! lol

I am sharing this girl for Sunday Sketches today over at Sophia's blog! Its been a few weeks since I joined in but am glad to be back there today! Be sure to check out all the lovely work for this week! Click HERE!

Hope you are all having a fabulous day. xo

  1. She's beautiful, Cathy and look forward to seeing it in colour. :)

I hope Rocky starts to settle down soon so you both can get some much needed rest.

  2. beautiful sketch! Very wistful - love the hearts in her hair too!

    Good luck with new pup!

  3. Rocky will settle soon I am sure. Thank goodness such a stressed out pup has patient you for his mum. :)

    Loving the sketch!

  4. Don't give up on the crate. I swear by it, and have all 3 of mine crated when we are gone and at night. All for different reasons, lol! But they love their crates, I say "let's take a nap" and they all go into their beds. Breathe mama....

  5. Oh this is just so gorgeous!!! I wished I had done that class now.
I hope you can catch up with your sleep soon. I have shopping bags under my eyes because we have a young pup too.

  6. Beautiful, Cathy! And I'm glad that Rocky is settling in and starting to feel part of your little family. And I'm sure he'll sleep quietly at night really soon. I remember having to let Winslow out a few times at night when he was a puppy. A good night's sleep was such a wonderful luxury. Hugs, Silke

  7. I had this same problem with one of my dogs when she was a puppy. Someone gave me a great piece of advice. Move the crate to a room that is far from your bedroom and close the door. I did that...for me it was a laundry room. I have other ideas for you. Let me know if are interested.

  8. she's luminous... such dramatic, longing eyes. and the hearts in her hair are a nice, whimsical touch.

  9. Beautiful the big eyes! Congrats on the new fun!POP ART MINIS

  10. What a great sketch and I hope your puppy settles soon. Lots of good times ahead with Rocky but I guess you just need to get through this little sleepless patch.

Love the sketch too and the hearts in her hair. I've been awol from Sunday Sketches a while too....sometimes life just gets in the way. Happy SS x

  11. Cathy; she is lovely. And welcome Rocky! He's beautiful; I just watched the video. Yes; breaking in the new pups - takes awhile. It will pass and Rocky will get used to the routine. Congratulations!

Love your Fall picture - thank you!
